How do you know if you have found the right photographer?
First of all, the photographer's work should stand out. And secondly, and just as important, is you should like their personality. As you will be spending a lot of time with your photographer, you should be sure to have a good connection with them.
What is your turnaround time for delivering photos after a shoot?
This can vary depending on the type of shoot. For weddings I tell my clients they can expect their images to be delivered within 4-6 weeks. Though I always share a few sneak peeks with them in a day or two after the wedding.
I definitely want to do a photobook, how does that work?
I make this process as easy as possible. After the photos are delivered, you can simply select the images you want included in a photobook from your online gallery. From there I prepare an online proof (virtual copy) for you to review. At this point, you can suggest changes until you are happy with the design, before it goes off to the lab for printing. I walk my clients through the entire process, from album size, to cover options, to ensure they get the perfect album that will become a family heirloom.
I'm ready to book! What are the payment options?
When clients are ready to book (yay!), I send them a 'booking proposal'. This online form allows them to select the package/service they want, fill out an online agreement form, and then select their method of payment for the retainer fee.
For weddings, I require a 30% retainer fee to hold the date, and the remainder is due by the wedding date. For most other sessions (family portraits, headshots, etc) the retainer fee is 50%, with remainder due by the day of the session.
