Work that looks like
the work you make.
Artists who make serious work deserve images that match it. A generic studio headshot doesn't capture what a painter, sculptor, ceramicist, or creator actually does — or who they are when they're doing it.
I photograph artists in their spaces, at their benches, in the places where the work actually happens. The studio, the workshop, the gallery — wherever you're most yourself is usually where the most interesting photographs are made.
I'm an artist too - creating with photography, printmaking, ceramics, textiles — which means I understand the relationship between a maker and their materials, and how to photograph it with respect.
Every kind of maker,
every kind of image.
In your space, at your work
Photographs of you in your studio, workshop, or gallery — working, thinking, in relation to your materials. The images that show where the work comes from.
For grant applications, press & bios
Clean, professional portraits for Canada Council applications, gallery submissions, press kits, and anywhere else you need a strong image of yourself as an artist.
Photographs of the work itself
High-quality documentation of paintings, sculpture, ceramics, textiles, or any physical work — for portfolios, submissions, and archival records.
"The workshop tells you what to do if you let it."Shawn Moreton
Straightforward sessions,
no surprises.
Every session begins with a free consultation — we talk about your practice before anything is booked.
Studio rental is included if you'd like a clean backdrop — or we can shoot entirely in your own studio or workshop, whichever fits your practice.

Portrait &
Branding Session
Two hours, one location — your studio or workspace. Time for portraits alongside a first pass of process and studio images.
Book this sessionThe session most artists choose. Time for portraits, process shots in your studio or workshop, and documentation of the work itself — enough for a full grant application or press kit. This one can also be split between studio and an outdoor or on-location setting, if that suits the work better.
Book this sessionMore time, more depth. Built for a bigger submission — portraits, process, studio, and work documentation together as one complete library. Studio and on-location time can be split across the session, if you'd like both.
Book this sessionThe longest session available — the most coverage and variety of any package, so you leave with the widest library of images to draw from. Like the 3 and 4 hour sessions, time can be split between studio and an outdoor or on-location setting.
Book this sessionFrom five images to your complete library
Your five retouched images are the starting point, not the finish line. Once your gallery is ready, we go through everything we shot together — portraits, process, and documentation — and build out the rest of your set, priced as a collection, so it's easy to walk away with exactly what you need.
Collections start at $225 for a 10-image set, with the full menu walked through together after your session.
All images delivered as high-resolution digital files with a royalty-free license for personal and commercial use, including grant applications and exhibition materials.
