Personal Work
The work made
for its own sake.
Long-term documentary and portrait projects — slower, more personal, and driven entirely by curiosity. Inquiries from curators and galleries are welcome.

Ice Shacks
A study in vernacular architecture — the improvised, the functional, the quietly eccentric. Each shack is a self-portrait of its builder. The hand-painted signs, the salvaged materials, the particular angle a door was hung. No two are the same.
A cultural archive of life in the North. A seasonal ritual that has been happening for generations, largely undocumented, out on the ice where no one much is watching.
The project is ongoing. As long as the lakes freeze, I'll keep going back.

Closer
Together
An ongoing collection of remote portraits of artists and creators from around the world — people making things with intention, in studios and spare rooms and kitchens and garages, wherever their work happens.
I photograph them from here, wherever they are from there, and something real still comes through.

Exhibition, publication,
and book inquiries
are welcome.
Both projects are available for exhibition consideration. The Ice Shacks series is being developed toward an artist book. If you are a curator, gallerist, or publisher and would like to discuss either body of work, I would be glad to hear from you.
